Government Affairs
HBAV is committed to ensuring housing options are available for all Virginians as well as protecting the business needs of Virginia home builders, remodelers, developers, and industry trade partners. To fulfill this commitment, HBAV’s professional government relations staff proudly advocates on behalf of its members at the Virginia General Assembly and with numbers of state agencies. HBAV’s advocacy efforts provide a collective voice of the housing industry to elected officials and regulators. Having HBAV advocate on our members’ behalf is the most significant membership benefit that HBAV provides. Each year on average, HBAV’s experienced lobbyists act on over 200 pieces of legislation introduced by the Virginia General Assembly that would affect the housing climate in Virginia.
HBAV BuildPAC is HBAV’s Political Action Committee and is an essential component of HBAV’s advocacy program. It is through voluntary contributions that HBAV BuildPAC can help to preserve the political climate for the residential construction and development industry in Virginia.
