Education Foundation

The HBAV Educational Foundation was created by the HBAV membership in 1989 to advance building industry education opportunities and labor force in Virginia.  The foundation works to enhance the professionalism within the home building industry and to create future housing leaders for the industry and the state. Through local HBA’s, school systems in Virginia, Community Colleges, Universities, and other similar institutions, the HBAV Education Foundations provides funding and scholarships to accomplish the foundations objectives.

The HBAV Education Foundation is 501-C3 Non-Profit Corporation.  The Education Foundation relies on tax deductible contributions to accomplish its objectives.  All contributions to the foundation are 100% tax deductible.

Home Builders Association of Virginia Memorial Scholarship

This endowment was started at the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech as a memorial to the students and faculty that lost their lives on the Blacksburg campus in April of 2007.  In 2007, this memorial campaign raised over $160,000 through a joint effort of the HBAV Educational Foundation and contributing HBAV members throughout Virginia.  The permanent endowment will be a long-lasting beacon of support from the building industry in Virginia and will further the goal of the HBAV Educational Foundation by helping to create the future leaders of Virginia’s housing industry.
