About NAHB

NAHB strives to protect the American Dream of housing opportunities for all, while working to achieve professional success for its members who build communities, create jobs, and strengthen our economy.

Since it was founded in the early 1940s, NAHB served as the voice of America’s housing industry. NAHB works to ensure that housing is a national priority and that all Americans have access to safe, decent and affordable housing, whether they choose to buy or rent a home. NAHB helps its members build communities. Each year, NAHB’s members construct about 80% of the new homes built in the United States, both single-family and multifamily.

HBAV and Virginia local HBA’s are part of the more than 700 state and local associations affiliated with NAHB. NAHB represents more than 140,000 members and like HBAV, about one-third are home builders and remodelers and the rest work in closely related specialties such as sales and marketing, housing finance, and manufacturing and supplying building materials.

Meeting its members’ business needs and ensuring that they have the tools and resources necessary to succeed is an equally important task, so NAHB also provides educational opportunities, including the International Builders’ Show, the single most important event of the year for the home building industry and the world’s largest show of its kind for the residential and light construction industry.

Without HBAV Government Affairs program, builders and developers would have no protection from overburdensome legislation and regulation.  HBAV allows me the opportunity to operate a successful business in Virginia.

Vince Napolitano

President, Napolitano Homes

I get the most out of the HBAV networking and leadership opportunities.  Whether it's networking events at my local association, attending the HBAV Annual Conference, or NAHB International Builders Show.
