About The HBAV

The Home Builders Association of Virginia is composed of members from seventeen local associations around the state and is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C. To become a member, contact the local association that represents the area in which your business is located. By joining at the local level, you automatically become a member of the state and national home builders associations. A portion of your local membership dues is allocated to HBAV and NAHB. As a member, you have access to a vast variety of services offered by all three associations.

Thousands of members of the home building industry in Virginia have banded together on the local level to provide safe, affordable housing for the citizens of the Commonwealth and to protect the interests of the industry. As a member of a local home builders association, you have the opportunity to work in governmental affairs, join committees that zero in on your particular needs, and discuss problems of mutual concern with other builders and associate members at monthly meetings and planned activities. When builders and associates join the associations, they gain a chance to take an active part in forming the future of the industry.

HBAV has over 6,400 member firms and is governed by a Board of Directors which meets four times a year. HBAV currently maintains offices in Richmond, Virginia with a full-time staff including the Executive Vice President, who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the association.
